The first session will generally take about 1½ to 2 hours. As a new patient you have 2 options for paperwork:
1- You can arrive approximately 30 minutes early for your appointment and fill it out in the waiting room.
2- You can download forms from our website and fill them out before your appointment.
After checking in for your appointment, your acupuncturist will follow up on the information you provided in your intake forms during a 20-25 minutes consultation. He/She may ask you a series of detailed questions about any health problems or symptoms you might be having, OR may do examine your tongue and feel your pulse in both wrists in order to arrive at a traditional Chinese medical diagnosis. At your first appointment, your practitioner will explain how Lotus Hands Acupuncture may help, and give you some tools, tips, and resources to get you started
B- Treatment Plan
After reviewing your collected information, your practitioner will create a special treatment plan for you. In some cases, your treatment plan may include Chinese herbs, dietary and/or exercise changes as part of his/her suggested treatment plan.
Your practitioner will check your progress and may adjust your treatment every visit. He/she also provide you with ongoing lifestyle and diet coaching to help you manage stress and recovery faster. Within few sessions, you should notice significant changes in your sleep, menstrual cycle, or overall sense of well being. These are signs that you are getting back in balance.
